I'm L.J., mod and creator of this comm. I've been a casual fan of Star Wars for about 20 years now, ever since I watched the original trilogy on VHS (yes, VHS) as a collage student. I went into it completely unspoiled; I gasped in shock at the "I am your father!" line. It was the sequel trilogy and specifically the character of Finn that made me into a more hardcore fan, leading me to write meta and fic, make edits and gifs, and engage in bitter and protracted fandom wars on Tumblr.
I never exactly left Tumblr. Can I get all melodramatic and say "Tumblr left me?" Long story short, Stuff Happened that made Tumblr less fun for me and I started spending more time away from it, which was a positive change in my online life. I don't miss it but I do miss the Finn content and discussions, hence this comm.
IRL I'm a mother of a toddler and an educator/academic/translator. Other fandom interests include the new She-Ra and The Good Place. Non-fandom interests include writing and researching history.
